Toronto Sun Guest Column: Acquittal would be just result in Ghomeshi case
In a Toronto Sun guest column, DPS partner and Toronto criminal lawyer Boris Bytensky writes, “It is not enough to show the complainants may be telling the truth, despite their inconsistencies and subsequent conduct — rather, the correct question to ask is reversed and framed as follows: Given the inconsistencies and conduct (and other factors), is it possible that the events did not occur as alleged? Mr. Ghomeshi does not need to prove that the complainants are lying or mistaken; he only needs to show that they “might be.” He loses the real trial only if the judge is sure that they are not.”
