1. Teen Speed Racer
A Brampton teen was clocked speeding last night. The teen was going more than twice the speed limit. The radar caught them going 107 km/h in a 50 zone! The driver was stopped and has since lost their license for seven days, had their vehicle impounded, and was charged with racing.
2. Dixie Road DUI
A driver was stopped on Dixie Road and Clark Boulevard around 9:20 am, Monday morning. The driver had an excess blood alcohol level and was charged. The police say no one was hurt nor was there any property damage. Times like this are when having an experienced DUI lawyerto call is crucial!
3. Judge vs. Crown
A Brampton judge has blasted the Public Prosecution Service of Canada, commonly known as the federal Crown. The federal agency was supposed to disclose evidence in a heroin importing case to the defence, but they failed to do so in a timely manner. The judge issued a stay of proceedings for the case against the accused as the Crown failed to provide reasonable excuses for their delay.
4. Another Victim For Bruce McArthur
Police have identified a 6th victim of alleged serial killer Bruce McArthur. Police have still yet to charge McArthur in regards to a missing Brampton man though. Abdulbasir Faizi was last seen in the Church and Wellesley area where other victims went missing. Police say there are still more victims to identify.
5. Trio Convicted
Three men have been convicted of manslaughter in the fatal stabbing inside a Brampton home. A young man was killed and the victim’s brother was badly injured. The three men were acquitted of murder charges but were convicted of manslaughter. They managed to escape life in prison, but not prison time.
